About

I help filmmakers, producers, artists and educators create work that people remember.Through sound, film and immersive storytelling, I help turn ideas into experiences that connect with audiences, hold attention and leave a lasting impression.Over the past 20 years I've worked across television, film and independent productions as a Supervising Sound Editor and Re-Recording Mixer, shaping stories through sound for broadcast, cinema and immersive environments.Alongside this, I'm a filmmaker and co-director of Five29, producing original films and delivering production and post-production services, with a growing focus on immersive and fulldome experiences.I'm also an educator, lecturing across sound, film and creative media, bringing real-world industry experience into the classroom through teaching, workshops and guest lectures.Whether I'm developing a film, designing an immersive experience or working with students, the goal is always the same:To create meaningful experiences that connect with people through story, sound and moving image. If you're creating something ambitious and want it to resonate with your audience long after they've experienced it, let's talk.

NOW

June 2026 - Right now, I am having a bit of a revamp of where things are in my career, and part of that was to create a new website that better reflect the different disciplines that I have found myself to be part of.I look forward to evolving this new site as I figure things out and sharing updates.

What I do

Sound

Sound is often the difference between something being watched and something being felt. For almost 20 years, I've helped filmmakers, broadcasters and production companies tell better stories through sound, working as a Re-Recording Mixer, Dubbing Mixer and Supervising Sound Editor across hundreds of television programmes, documentaries and films. My credits include productions for the BBC, Netflix and Discovery, working both remotely from my own studio and alongside post-production teams on-site.

From dialogue editing and ADR to sound design, voice-over recording and final mix, I help shape every stage of the soundtrack with one goal in mind: creating an experience that serves the story and connects with the audience.Technical excellence matters. But audiences don't remember a perfectly balanced mix. They remember how a story made them feel. That's why my approach is always story-first. Every creative and technical decision is made to support emotion, clarity and engagement, helping audiences stay immersed in the world on screen.Whether you're producing a documentary, factual series, branded content or an original film, I can help bring your story to life through sound.Got a project in development? Let's talk.

Film

Great stories deserve more than simply being watched. They should draw people in, hold attention and leave a lasting impression.Alongside my work in sound, I develop and produce original films and commissioned projects through Five29, working across documentary, branded content and immersive storytelling.Having spent nearly two decades working in post-production and sound, I bring a slightly different perspective to filmmaking. I naturally approach projects holistically, thinking beyond the visuals to consider rhythm, emotion, pacing, sound and the overall audience experience from the earliest stages of development. That perspective has increasingly led me towards immersive and fulldome productions, exploring new ways of telling stories that place audiences at the centre of the experience rather than simply observing it.

At the heart of every project, however, is the story itself.Whether creating a documentary, branded film or immersive experience, I believe filmmaking should create connection, evoke emotion and leave audiences feeling something meaningful. The technology, format and production process are simply tools in service of that goal.I'm always interested in thoughtful collaborations, creatively ambitious projects and opportunities to explore new approaches to storytelling. If you're developing a project and looking for a story-first creative partner, let's talk.

Education

The creative industries can often feel difficult to navigate from the outside. One of the things I'm most passionate about is helping emerging creatives build the confidence, practical skills and industry understanding needed to develop sustainable careers in sound, film and media.Alongside my professional work, I lecture across creative media disciplines and have previously worked as a Programme Manager within further education. This combination of industry and educational experience has shaped my belief that the most effective learning happens when real-world practice meets supportive, accessible teaching. My teaching draws directly from nearly two decades working across film, television, post-production and immersive media, helping students connect creative theory with the realities of professional practice.Alongside lecturing, I deliver guest talks, workshops, mentoring and bespoke training programmes, both in person and online. Areas of particular interest include sound for screen, post-production workflows, immersive storytelling and creative career development.

As part of my own ongoing development, I've recently been accepted onto a Master's degree programme through Recognition of Prior Learning, recognising more than 20 years of professional experience in the audio industry. It's part of a longer-term commitment to developing my academic practice alongside my creative and professional work.I also regularly share writing and reflections on sound, storytelling, creativity and creative practice through my Substack publication.Whether you're an educational institution, creative organisation or individual looking to develop skills and confidence, I'd be delighted to explore how we might work together.Interested in a workshop, guest lecture, mentoring or educational collaboration?
